Busy girl, crafty girl.

HELLLLOOOOOOO!!!!

If you ever watched Seinfeld, you know how you have to say that...HELLLLOOOOOOO!!!!
What's been going on the blog world???
I do not know. I just don't have the time to keep up with all you people!! And I miss it!!
I'm hoping that when Christmas and the New Year are over, things will slow down...like REALLY slow down.
Seems like all I do is work, take care of kids, do laundry, clean house, ya know....the real fun stuff.
I did have a nice little weekend.
Friday night was my work Christmas party. Marianne was my date. Although I know the main reason she agreed to go was to ogle at one of the doctors I work for.
haha. She is a d.o.r.k.
I had a lot of fun. I believe I drank a little too much, talked too much, and probably a little too loud (over the music).
I woke up Saturday morning hoarse. My throat hurt and I could hardly speak.
But it was worth it. I love my co workers. I love the doctors I work for.
Watching them sing karaoke and dance and laugh.....and be normal, makes me smile. :)

So, Saturday morning I woke up at 5:00....because I just can't sleep late. No matter how late I stay up, no matter how much I drink, no matter how tired I am.....I'm up by 7 at the latest, EVERY weekend.

This week is Secret Santa Week at work. So, I decided to try out a Pinterest recipe. I made about 10 little pans of Whiskey Cake.
I took a few pans around, made my family try it out, to see how it was.
Survey says: YUM!

WHISKEY CAKE, baby!

So, I wrapped some up and made it today's gift to my Secret.....secret present receiver?
I also brought an extra pan for the girls up front.
They loved it. Yep.....I'm totally a great baker! ;)

Sunday I made my famous Pepper Jelly. It will be added to Friday's gift to my person!
I can't give it any earlier....everyone knows I'm the one who makes it!
Isn't it pretty?

I'm quite crafty and cooky lately! Pinterest is a wonderful thing.
I've made a majority of my gifts this year. I can't show certain ones, because some of my blog friends will be receiving them for Christmas! :)
But I LOVED this soda tab bracelet idea!!

I made these for Lucia, my aunt's little girl, Rachel, and Zac took the yellow and orange one.
Although he doesn't wear it. haha.
Too girlie, I suppose!

So, that's what's been going on with me! Work, kids, laundry, cleaning, baking, cooking, crafts, and no blogging. :(
Hopefully I'll be able to catch up with all of your lives after the new year.
I hope you are all doing super awesomely! ;)
Have a great week!!

4 day weekend!

I'm loving my 4 day weekend. Unfortunately, I only have one day left :(
Thanksgiving day, I stayed home all by my lonesome and slept most of the day away.
Gage was with Kayla from Wednesday to Friday night, and Zac with his dad. So Friday, I stayed in most of the day, too. I did my DIY arts and craft ideas from Pinterest.
I freaking LOVE this website. I've spent so much time at Hobby Lobby the past few weeks. I LOVE that store now!
Friday, Lucia and Jack came over around 3 and ended up staying the night. We had a lot of fun. We worked on the presents I'm making for my mom and step dad, and for my dad.
Then we made Christmas ornaments out of flour, salt, and water. We molded them, then cooked them, then painted them. It was a lot of fun. Then we colored those fuzzy art things with markers.
It started raining, so all four kiddos went to jump on the trampoline in the rain. :)
We all had a really good time!
Today was our Thanksgiving. My little sister has to work nights, and she had to work the night before and the night after Thanksgiving. So, we postponed our Thanksgiving.
I always have fun when my family gets together. Good food, good conversation, really good desserts!
My mom was making the mashed potatoes and had a little mishap.

Her old mixer went out of control and she made a mess. I suppose it's kinda my fault. :) I borrowed her good mixer to make a cake and never brought it back, so she had to use her ghetto one. haha.

She was so pissed at herself, but me and Lacey were cracking up. There were mashed potatoes all over.

hil.ar.i.ous!

After lunch and visiting....and re watching a few Josh Krajic (X Factor) magical moments, we went to check out my older sister's new house.

O.M.G.

This house is out of control.

I came really close to having to take a Xanax, just walking through.

It's freaking HUGE! I'm convinced it's haunted.

You know those nightmares you have over and over? I've had this reoccurring nightmare about a 2 story house. The upstairs is always haunted. I go up there, but have a bad feeling, then I open this one door, expecting it to be a closet. It ends up being like a whole other house. Like, living room, bedroom, bathroom, kitchen. It always has this really bad vibe.

Well, Leah's new house reminded me of this dream.

You walk in and there's a huge living room, then the dining room, then the kitchen. From the kitchen there's stairs down to the basement. There's a little breakfast nook also. Then you go down a long hall way. There's the big master bedroom, the master bath. Then stairs to the upstairs. Beside the upstairs there's a door that opens to a little storage area....the storage area has a little door that opens to another little scary room. But it's not really a door. It's a piece of ply wood covering the little room.

Next to the master bedroom, there was another door. That I thought lead to a bedroom. But you open it, and you can walk into another area. It's a hallway with a media room, a bathroom, and another kitchen/laundry area.

scary.

Upstairs there's a storage area that's a pretty good size....but the it only locks from the inside? Why?? That's creepy.

There's a bathroom, a hallway that has Lu and Jack's bedroom off to each side. Each bedroom has a huge closet, each closet has a little door at the back, that leads into more little secret rooms.

Ok, maybe I watch too many scary movies, but o.m.g. I'm getting short of breath just writing about it. SCARY!

At the end of the hall is another room, that will be their playroom.

You can get up into the attic from their hallway. Did I go up there? No. I did not.

I was left upstairs by myself at one point and hauled ass down the stairs.

I would love this house if I haven't had those nightmares.

But it's too erie, too close.

I told Leah I wasn't staying the night with her ever again. Maybe after I go visit a few times and see that it's not haunted, maybe after I get comfortable there, maybe.....maybe....I'll stay.

But I've already told her, I'm not babysitting for her there.

And she already scared me while we were looking around.

She came up all jerking and fast...and I screamed.

ugh.

I've got to stop watching scary movies!!!!

I love you, Stephen King!

To my Facebook friends, I am so sorry for all the Stephen King posts! But I was freaking excited!!

So, if you're super tired of hearing about Stephen King from me.....quit reading now! ;)

Last Thursday my sister and I took a trip to Dallas to meet up with our cousins, Carrie and Ashley. We, the Stephen King 'Constant Reader(s)', were lucky enough to get tickets to his book tour.
Being the fan that I am, I HAD to make a t-shirt, showing my love. <3

After visiting for a while, and playing with Carrie's little ones; Ava and Annabel, and her nanny's little boy, we hit the road.
We had a good lunch, talking about old times and laughing so hard....my stomach muscles seriously hurt. I haven't laughed like that in so long.
Even if I hadn't seen Stephen King, it would've been an ideal day. Growing up, we cousins were always so close.

BUT, I DID see Stephen King.
That was the icing on the cake!!

We got into THE room about 45 minutes early. I had to take a picture of THE CHAIR, that STEPHEN freakin' KING would be sitting in.

Oh, how that 45 minutes dragged by!!! We were so giddy!
Then, finally......he came out.
And I almost cried.

Some people may think I'm really stupid, but I am just such a huge fan.
I always HATED reading. Anytime I had books I had to read in school, my dad would rent the movies for me.d Because he knew I wouldn't read it.
Even if I did, I couldn't focus on the words I was reading. I would read the same paragraph five times and still not comprehend.
Then when Gage was about 2 or 3, I finally allowed his dad to take him for the weekend.
I never went out. I was a homebody.
So, I decided that I would try to read a Stephen King book. My whole life I saw his books in my mom and sister's hands and thought I'd give one a try.
The first book I read of his was 'The Stand'. Within the first few pages, I was hooked.
It took a few days to finish it. The last chapter took the longest, because I didn't want it to end.

And I've been reading his books nonstop since then.

His new book is about the JFK assassination. Kind of a "what if" it hadn't happened?
I haven't read it yet, but I'm super excited to.

Of course, since his book is obviously partly about politics, he voiced his opinion on the subject.
We agreed to disagree on that matter.
He also said he was agnostic.
We also agreed to disagree on that.

I guess it would be stupid for me to think that our views on everything would be the same.
But I just love his mind so much and couldn't wait to hear words coming out of his mouth!
I was a little disappointed in his beliefs.

But of course, when he wasn't talking about religion and politics, I was absorbing and loving every word!
He told a story about Michael Jackson.
He said one day he got a phone call and someone came to him and said, "Michael Jackson's on the phone."
He was like...."yeah right."
But he had to go check it out. So, he said he got to the phone and said "hello", then in his best high pitch Michael Jackson voice he said,"Stephen, this is Mike. I wanted to know if you would work with me on a short film, music video? I want it to be the scariest short film anyone has every seen. Will you do it?"
(maybe not in those EXACT words)
And Stephen said to Michael Jackson, in the same high pitch voice,"Why, yes, Michael. I can do that."
Then he said that one day Michael Jackson called his house. Tabitha (King's wife) answered and said that Steve wasn't home, but gave him a number to where he could be reached.
About 10 minutes later, SK said that the phone rang again, and Tabitha answered to hear MJ sobbing. He said that he was so sorry, but he didn't have a pen when she gave him the number, so he tried to write the number in his carpet and he couldn't see it anymore.
WOW!
So funny, but kinda sad too.

Something that surprised me about him is that he doesn't once a cell phone! He calls it a wrist-slave and refused to buy one.
How awesome is that?
I wish I could get rid of my cell phone. We are all slaves to them.

There was so much he talked about, I wish I could just type out every word, but obviously, I can't.
To sum it all up, he wasn't all I had made him out to be in my head (but can anyone live up to the expectations of someone they've never met?).
All in all, it was wonderful.
A once in a lifetime opportunity, and I'm so glad I got to go. Especially to be able to go with my fellow SK lovers/family!

Well, hello there.

Long time, no write.
I used to find time to blog a little at work. But we've been so busy!
I've been training the new girl! And I love her!! She's a fast learner and hard worker. Just what I wanted!

I felt the after shock of the earthquake in Oklahoma last night. So many things were going through my head when it happened.
First I thought it was my imagination. Then I thought my bed was levitating like on the Exorcist. Then I thought, maybe a UFO was over my house and I was about to be abducted by aliens. My bed starting shaking and I thought Gage or Leah had come in and were trying to scare me. I called out into the dark,"Hello? Hello?"
Then I got on Facebook and was relieved to see that it wasn't just my house.
I know most of the things I thought it was seems a little unbelievable. But to me, they're more believable than a freaking earthquake in Texas.
Right?

I'm so excited!!! Next Thursday I am going to see STEPHEN KING!!!! He'll be in Dallas for a book tour and I AM GOING!!!
So.....I've seen Bob Seger!, Willie Nelson!, and NOW I get to see Stephen King!!
I'm going to make a shirt to wear!!
I <3 Stephen King
on the back, it may say,"I'm your #1 Fan!" (SK book, Misery)

That's all I really have to say right now. Not a lot going on.
Just working, working, working.
Trying to make that money for Christmas. :)

I hope my blog friends are well. Hopefully I'll find time to write more and catch up with what's been going on in your lives.
:)
