Tuesday night, Zac went to a birthday party at Skate Whirl. Yes, roller skating! I LOVE to skate....or I used to, anyways. I haven't gone in a couple years...I wonder if I could still do it? Anyways, on with my story.... Zac gets in the car and this is our conversation: Me: Did you have fun at the birthday party? Zac: Yeah. Me: Did you skate? Zac: Yeah. .............. Ok, I'm tired of trying to make conversation. I stop talking. .............. Zac: (big sigh) Me: What's up? Zac: There was this mean boy there. Me: Oh yeah? Why was he mean? What did he do? Zac: He punched a girl in the stomach and she almost threw up. Me: Eww. That IS mean! Zac: Yeah, then he pushed me and Nathan (birthday boy) down. Me: Aw, are you ok? Zac: Yeah, but I cried, I was embarrassed. Me: It's alright. No big deal. Did you push him back? Zac: Yeah! ......... Zac: Well, I tried to push him, but I kept rolling back in my skates. Me and Gage: ahahahahahahahahaha. (ok, I KNOW a lot of people think I'm wrong, but I DO tell my kids...they hit you, you hit them back! Gotta learn to take up for yourself! I do tell them that they NEVER throw the first punch/push/whatnot.) |

Here's a story....
EVERYDAY, I'm thankful for....
You may think I'm retarded, but I LOVE reading church signs. I always try to remember them. One that I liked said "You have to believe it enough to live it" another... "Life without Jesus, how's that working out for you?" I saw this sign last week and liked it a lot. So, I drove back by and took a picture....just for you! ;)
"What if you only had what you thanked God for?"
Have you ever thought about that? Do you thank God for just the big things in life, or for everything? I thought about it and what I thank God for when I pray. Every night, these things/people I thank the good Lord above for:
my children
my sisters
my nephews
my niece
my mom and step dad
my dad and brother
my extended family
my friends
my job, even though I sometimes complain about it
which gives me money for the food we eat, the clothes we wear, the roof over our heads.
Other things that I'm thankful for varies, but those are the things I thank God for every night.
Of course, I also have my list of people that I pray for every night.
Anyways.....just a reminder, peeps....don't forget to be thankful for all that you have!!!

It's a good one....
There are some movies you watch that just stay with you. Long after you've watched them. The ones that usually stay with me, are the ones about kids. Have you ever seen "Thirteen"? Oh my gosh...that movie stayed with me for dayyyyyys. It's heartbreaking. Another one....this movie I watched again last night after a couple years. I have it on DVD and watch it every couple years. The first time I saw it, Gage was just a baby.
It's the first movie that Rosario Dawson and Chloe Sevingy were in. I fell in love with Chloe Sevingy. Her character broke my heart, over and over again.

If you haven't seen this movie, you must. It is heartbreaking.
and scary.
Like I said, I first saw this when Gage was just a baby. I was terrified.
What kind of world have I brought my child into??
It's eye opening.
I now want Gage to watch this movie....but at the same time, I'm a little scared that maybe it's a little too fast for him? I don't know.
Anyways.....it's a good one...if you haven't seen it...check it out!!!

Nina Simone....you know how I feel...
Birds flyin' high, you know how I feel
Sun in the sky, you know how I feel
Breeze driftin' on by, you know how I feel
It's a new dawn, it's a new day, it's a new life for me
And I'm feelin' good
Fish in the sea, you know how I feel
River runnin' free, you know how I feel
Blossom on the tree, you know how I feel
Its a new dawn, its a new day, its a new life for me
And I'm feelin' good
Dragonfly out in the sun, you know what i mean, don't you know
Butterflies all havin' fun, you know what I mean
Sleepin' peace when day is done, that's what I mean
And this old world is a new world and a bold world for me
Stars when you shine, you know how I feel
Scent of the crime, you know how I feel
Your freedom is mine, and I know how I feel
Its a new dawn, its a new day, its a new life for me
Oh, and I'm feelin' good.

Silly girls.....
As I was saying last week...my coworkers are so dirty. and maybe a little immature!!! I remember playing this game when I was in like.....8th grade?? Friday we had a potluck and someone brought fortune cookies. What do you do with fortune cookies??? Oh....you know...you add "in bed" at the end. Yeah...when you were like 13, ya did. And apparently when you're in your late 20's, 30's, and 40's. So, this is what my fortune cookie said:
.....IN BED!!! haha. Also, of course, this MUST be true...because I got my hair cut AND colored!
And my fingernails were painted!! The girls are convinced I have a secret boyfriend. One of the girls even has me being secretly pregnant. Don't you just love offices full of girls?? good times, I tell ya!! good times. haha.
"Happier days are definitely ahead for you. Struggle has ended."

Dirty Talk
I'll tell you right now....you do not need this book if you want to know how to dirty talk....
Ok, maybe the kind of dirty talk I'm talking about isn't in this guide book. But I'm telling you right now, the girls at work could put any boys locker room to shame.
I think I blush almost daily up here, with the way these girls talk.
I always thought boys were bad......sorry, guys....you got nothing on these girls.

Saturday already? :( I'm not ready to go home!
Only one more night and we'll be heading home from our visit with the family. :( It seems like the days and nights just flew by.
We've been cooking out, drinking beer (and Sparkletini, YUM!), and telling stories of way back when.
We usually stay at my aunt and uncle's house, but since Ashley has her own house now, I'm staying with her. Which is fun, I love this girl!
BUT, we are on totally different schedules!! Thursday night we put on "Skeleton Key" to watch and I fell asleep before it was over. She finished it AND watched the new "Indiana Jones". I was out and had no idea she was watching more movies, or that she got a blanket and covered me up. Sweet girl.
I woke up at 4:35 am, got off the couch and went to the guest bedroom and slept until 9. Of course, Ash didn't wake up until everyone started showing up for the next BBQ....at 11:00!!
Once again, last night (after Zac and Jack were asleep) we put on another movie..."Nightmare on Elm Street" (the original one). I got to the part where Johnny Depp dies and I was out.
Ash was working on my tattoo design and watching movies. I think I woke up once to her putting in a new movie. Once again, I woke up about 4:00 and went to the guest bedroom and fell back to sleep.
Zac woke me up at 7 a.m. I picked up around the house, loaded the dishwasher, and changed out the trash.
Now I'm sitting here, drinking coffee, playing around on the computer, waiting for this girl to wake up!!
Today we are going out to my aunt and uncle's, the kiddos are going to fish, we'll probably cook out again.....and I'm getting my tattoo today!!!!! Super excited.
I fell asleep before I had a chance to check out what she had done. All I told her was that I wanted was for her to add on to the one I already have.

I want it bigger and better....I want Zac's name (which I said to put Zack, that's how everyone else spells it...including Zac!) and I want honeysuckle. I LOVE honeysuckle. It's pretty, it's my favorite scent, and it reminds me of my childhood.
I can't wait to see what she has drawn up for me!!
Would it be rude to wake her up?? I guess I should let her be well rested before she inks me up, huh?? ;)
And let me just say.....yes, my tattoo is a "tramp stamp", BUT I got this tattoo FOURTEEN YEARS ago, before they were even popular and called "tramp stamps"!!!
BEFORE there were low rise jeans.
just sayin'!
So, my tattoo is actually up higher than a tramp stamp. Which is lame in itself, BUT....hopefully Ashley can fix it up.

Pet Peeves
Here are a few of my pet peeves.
I've blogged about our homeless people situation at work. We had to lock our bathroom door because they would literally bathe in our bathrooms. Yesterday two homeless guys came in and asked if they could use our restroom. I said I was sorry but they're for patients only. The younger guy said that the older had to go real bad. Again, I said I was sorry. The older guy yells at me and says,"What do you want me to do?? Shit a doody right here?" I tried so hard not to laugh at him and say,"Did you just say shit a doody?" I do feel bad, but seriously it's just gotten so bad, we have to say no!
Another pet peeve....that actually happened yesterday, too....patients leaning all the way in my window at work. Seriously?? I'm so pro-personal space.....get away!!!

Shoes like these.
Major pet peeve.
Seriously? They're the ugliest things I've ever seen!!!!
sorry if you own some.....

{one} scruffy or clean shaven?
Ohhh, I love scruffy! :)
{two} what’s your favorite sundae topping?
I'm boring, hot fudge.
{three} do you own slippers?
Yes. But I don't wear them.
{four} did you ever have a tree house?
No, but my step dad built us a three story fort type thing. It was fun. :)
{five} how you do relieve stress?
Take deep breaths. If that doesn't work...Xanax.
{six} what’s your favorite dr. seuss book?
My favorite was always "Green Eggs and Ham". I read it to my boys all the time when they were little. :)
{seven} have you ever taken dance classes?
hahaha. I need them!! But I would be too embarrassed by how uncoordinated I am!!
{eight} which do you use more: the thesaurus or the dictionary?
Neither. That's what spell check is for.....but sometimes I forget to use it, too. :/
{nine} what’s your favorite form of exercise?
It used to be pump class. But I've gotten pretty lazy.
{ten} what’s the longest you’ve ever waited in line?
I don't know. Probably a long time back in the day when I went to Six Flags all the time....?
Link up here to play "Tickle Me Tuesday"!
I've never played before, but after reading Karina's post, I wanted to play along!

I want the License to Drive DVD. But I guess since Corey Haim died...this has become a classic, so it's like...super expensive. That sucks.
I love this movie. I think Gage would like it, too. I want him to see it!!

And last, but not least (and especially not least expensive) is this Clarisonic Plus from Sephora. Just because my skin is bad. I never wore sunscreen as a kid and I lived outside.
Who am I kidding? I still don't wear sunscreen....but I should.
If I got one of these....I would start. ;)

My weekend....
I know you're DYING to know what I did this weekend!! So, let me fill you in on the greatness....
Friday I went shopping with Marianne. But does it really count as shopping if you don't even buy anything? Oh well, it was fun walking around, looking at clothes, talking anyways....
Then I went home and caught up on some tv. Fun stuff.
Saturday, I picked up Gage and his friend Cody, from Cody's house. We went and ate at Sevi's. then he and Cody watched Lucia and Jack while me and Leah went to buy me a new washing machine.
Yeah, mine quit spinning. Did you know it really sucks having to wring out your clothes because they're soaking wet. I'm glad I didn't live back in the days when you had to scrub and wring out and hang up your clothes. I'm just too lazy for all that.
Saturday night me, Leah, Lucia, Jack, Gage, and Cody all went to the St Paddy's Festival downtown.
Jack and Lucia immediately wanted a turkey leg.
Those things are bigger than the kids!!!

Her head looks so small in between the giant bow and huge turkey leg!!
Marianne met up with us...but way later and of course, my sister was ready to go by then, Jack was tired. We had already been there for a couple hours, so we talked for a bit, then headed home.
I cleaned up a little bit and headed to bed.
I cleaned up a little bit and headed to bed.
Sunday morning, I went to pick up Zac from his nana's and of course, Lowe's decides to come at the exact moment to deliver my washer! Luckily he was talking to my landlord, so I got back in time to let him in.
Once he had it hooked up, I went CRAZY doing laundry!! Wow. It's so easy to do now!! I LOVE IT! :)
Who knew I could get so excited about a washing machine???
While folding laundry, I watched a couple movies that I rented the day before.
First one being "127 Hours"
OMG! I LOVED this movie. It was so good. So sad.
I cried at the end.
I love James Franco!
It's was aight.
It was pretty much a wanna be "St Elmo's Fire" remake.....wasn't even close in being as wonderful.
It's about a close knit group of friends that date eachother and break up and date the other, who end up with the wrong one in the end...blah, blah, blah.
Like I said...it was aight. :)
I'm exhausted today :(
I just want to go home and nap.
Thank God it's only a 3 day work week for me! Then I'm off to see the family! yay!

Excitement for the day....
We had a little excitement at work today.
A sheriff ran into a car.....

craaaaazy!!
Yeah, me and Brenda were outside taking pics with our cell phones!! haha.

1. My biggest accomplishment in life thus far is ....hmmm, so far it would be raising two boys on my own, getting up every morning and going to work, quitting smoking, (lately attempting to) cook more for my boys, I consider all of those my biggest acconplishments so far....because every accomplishment is big time baby...for me. :) 2. My favorite place to sit in my house is I usually sit in my chair at my computer desk, in the living room. I don't know why. I don't even have internet! I sit there to watch tv, when I'm helping Zac with his homework, when I'm eating a bowl of cereal. It's just where I sit. 3. My fashion philosophy is dress for comfort!!! I'm so not into fashion. I never have been. You should've seen me shopping with my mom and sisters yesterday. I was like,"OMG, look at this cute t shirt." "Look at this cute sweat shirt with the neck ripped out." haha. 5. If you looked in my purse right now you'd find.... a wallet, a bottle of Xanax, a small bottle of slime that I took from Zac last night, cell phone, and keys. Booooring! 6. My favorite music right now is Bob Seger. His cd has been playing in my car non stop. I just love him! 7. My favorite part of my body is Uhhh, hmm. I don't have a favorite part? |

Meet my lovely artist cousin.
Yes, I'm blogging again today. I'm sitting at my sister's house, waiting until I have to pick up Gage's girlfriend to take them on their "date".
I'm super excited because I'm off tomorrow!! YAY! I'm going to lunch with my mom and sister, then shopping!! Of course, I don't have money, but my sister is giving me some money (late birthday gift) so I can shop, too.
So, I thought while I have this free time, I would introduce you to my cousin, Ashley.
The one who is giving me a tattoo next weekend!!
I can't wait to check out her new shop and see what she has drawn up for me!
This is my gorgeous cousin:

You should totally check out her facebook, you can see how very talented she is. Not only can she do tattoos, but she paints, does sculpters, make up...all kinds of good stuff, check out her artwork. You will be impressed. :)
I love her, she's super awesome.
If you want some ink, head down to Fairfield...down by Corsicana and let her tat you up. You won't be disappointed!
Can't wait to get pics up of my new tattoo....and I know you can't wait either. :)
Oh...hi, how are ya?
I can't believe it's Wednesday already. The days are just flying by, it seems!
This weekend my cousin Carrie came in town and I got to see Annabel and Ava! They are so precious! Annabel is the happiest baby I've ever seen! Always smiling! I wish they lived closer so I could see them more often :(
Saturday night I went out with Leah and Carrie. We went and ate at Bar L, then went to Denim and Diamonds. A new "nightclub" here in the Falls. I should've known by the name that it would be filled with mostly cowboys and cowgirls. As I walk in, I start to feel a little more out of place (than I usually do). I'm always feeling a little out of place in bars, well...really anywhere there are tons of people. But especially Saturday night at the cowboy bar in my shirt that's ripped off at the bottom, holey jeans, and Converse.
But it was still a good time. We had fun sitting back, drinking beer, making fun of all the people out on the dance floor.
It's easy to make fun of someone dancing when you're too scared to get out there yourself. haha. Yeah, I don't dance!! I could count on one hand how many times I've attempted.
So, it turned out to be a fun night anyways.
Sunday we went to my mom's, my step dad cooked out for Gage's birthday.
That's always a fun time. My little sister brought her new boyfriend over. :) He was a cutie. He plays drums in a band at a church. That's a plus for me. He takes Lacey and her son Gavin to play some disk golf or something at the Falls park, another plus. He's her age...annnnd, another plus! I like this guy for her. :) He seems sweet.
I hope we didn't scare him away. haha.
Monday was Zac's follow up appointment with his anxiety medicine. We started him on Lexapro, but within a week I could tell that it was not for him! He was overly active. Like...insane. So, we changed him to Prozac. Which I thought was for depression...seeing how I take it for that reason. But the doctor said that Prozac was originally made for anxiety. I said that doesn't make sense, because I take it for depression, but I'm always anxious. I sometimes have to take Xanax for my anxiety. He said that the lower the dose works well for anxiety, but the higher you go, it works for depression...but can start to cause anxiety. Wow.
Anyways, we started Zac on Prozac and I notice a difference. He actually went to the park with Lucia AND her friends the other day. Any other time, he would go with Lucia, but not her friends. He's not comfortable around people he doesn't really know. (Anxiety!) But it wasn't a huge difference because he still has his little tics. The doctor said he noticed it wasn't happening as much. But it's still happening. So, he upped the medication in hopes that it would help more. I asked him if he thought it would stop completely. He says that usually when someone has tics caused by such a high anxiety, they won't stop completely until puberty...if at all. If it doesn't stop, then the older they get, the easier it is to control.
Sooo, I guess we will just have to sit and wait. His teacher said yesterday that he seemed a little more hyper today. Monday night was his first night to take a double dose. Let's just hope it needs to get in his system and it works.
It's so hard finding the right medication. It breaks my heart to do trail and error with my 8 year old son, but it breaks my heart even more for him to have to deal with all this anxiety.
So, we will just continue to try medications and pray that we find something that works well for him.
On to my day on Tuesday. We found out Tuesday that my uncle Billy's (the one we're planning to visit during spring break) brother Gary passed away on Monday. :( He was only 53 years old, but very sick. He lived with my aunt and uncle and my aunt Brenda found him Monday morning. He had died sometime in the night.
It is heartbreaking, he was a sweet, sweet man who always had a smile on his face. He always made a point to talk to everyone around. He was deaf, but could read lips well. He was a sweetheart.
Of course, we felt that now would not be a good time to visit, but my aunt Brenda said that my uncle Billy still wants us to come visit. So, I guess we will still be going there for a few days next week.
On to today....not much going on today. Zac will be at his dad's. I have to pick up Gage from school and I guess take him home to get ready for his date with his girlfriend. I have to pick her up, drop them off at El Chicos, then go back and pick them up when they're done, and take her home. Ohhhh, sometimes I cannot wait until he has a license!! haha.
Too cute, though.
So, that's what's been going on with me!!
I still haven't really looked into classes yet. I guess I should do that now, since we're slow at work.....

I'm a loser baby...so why don't you....not kill me, but pray for me? :)
Have you ever heard of Agent Orange?
Yeah, neither have I.
At least not until yesterday.
So, apparently it's a chemical that was used in wars in the late 60's, early 70's. It would destroy crops, remove forest cover, and to clear vegetation from the perimeters of US bases.
I just learned that while my dad was serving in Korea they had used this chemical.
While at the VA hospital, my dad found out that he has about 4 symptoms caused by exposure of this "Agent Orange".
Which sucks, right? But of course, with the bad comes the good. He's going to start receiving a check from the government.
Also, he said that the government will pay for all his children to go to college. Four years of college, paid for. Books, courses, everything. Well, obviously not cost of living and stuff, but the school part.
I'm excited about this, because I want to go to school. I want to be able to support my children, not live paycheck to paycheck. I want to be the one who can help people, instead of being the one that everyone helps.
But I'm also nervous about the possibility of going back to school, because I have a very short attention span.
I did attempt to go to school a few years ago. It didn't work out. I think I have ADD. Seriously. I would wake up in the morning, intending on going to class, only to end up in bed all day, or watching movies, or hanging out with my bf at the time.
Then I would cry at night about how I just can't make myself do it.
I'm not smart enough.
I have no motivation.
But still....for free? How can I NOT take this opportunity? How can I not try again?
Yes, I'm old. I'm 33 years old and the thought of school is scary.
I mean, I still have dreams that I'm in school and can't remember where my locker is....or what the combination is...or what class I am supposed to go to next.
Silly really.
But I have a feeling these dreams are going to become more frequent the more I look into this. haha.
Man, I'm a ruh-tard.
Anyways, yes....this is my new plan.
and i'm scared.

Today's blog is brought to you by
...the number "8" and the letter "F".
The number 8. The number of patients we have today!!
The letter F. The first letter of my favorite word, Friday!!
Eight patients on a Friday!! That means a short day for us!! YAY!!
This month of March is bringing nothing but fun weekends ahead!!
Tomorrow my cousin Carrie is coming in town, so it's going to be a girls night out for me, Carrie, and Leah. :)
It's not often that we can all get someone to keep our kids at the same time!!
Next weekend? The annual St Paddy's Street Festival. That's always fun!
Then the next weekend? We're going to visit my aunt and uncle in Fairfield. We usually go in the summer, but we're going Spring Break this year. And we'll probably go this summer too!
So excited about this trip. My cousin Ashley just opened her tattoo shop!
She's going to ink me up and I can't wait!!
I have Gage's name on my back, she's going to add Zac's name.
And no telling what else. She's drawing me up some stuff and I can't wait to see what she's got for me!! :)
Not to mention the important people who have birthdays this month:
Marianne and Mickey
Lucia
Jack

Wee Bit Wednesday time, yo!
Hey, Jealousy!
Jealousy. What a waste of an emotion.
It's an emotion I haven't felt in a long time.
But last night. My sister. Made me jealous.
Why??
Because her husband bought her a jeep.
Yes, a jeep.
Only the one car I have ever wanted. My entire life. A jeep. Since I was 13. Yes. 20 years now, I have wanted a jeep.
And my sister got one.
And I love it.
Is it not the most beautiful jeep ever??? See how my boys couldn't wait to jump in to go for a ride?
The boys were riding their bikes up and down the driveway when Leah started to pull in. Gage told her,"My mom is going to be so mad!!" haha.
I was in the kitchen, cleaning up after dinner. I look out the window and see my boys at the end of the driveway, talking to someone in a jeep. I walk out on the porch to see who it is....and Leah comes speeding up my driveway.
And I mouth to her,"You bitch". haha.
So she took us for a ride. We went into to Wichita Falls, to Sonic to get a drink.
How funny is Zac's hair? Cutie.
It's an emotion I haven't felt in a long time.

We can't wait to get in the jeep this summer and drive to P2 and Bar L. Drink some beer while soaking up some sun.
I love it.
I want it.
I need it.
I'm jealous.
