So, since June 23rd, I have managed to work three whole days.
OMG, my check is going to suck!!!
But I was released to go back to work, not restricted. Unfortunately I do have to wear the damn boot for another 4 weeks. Blah.

Thursday we had the day off at work, because some of the doctors are on vacation, and we just happened to have no patients that day. Usually I'd say yay to that....BUT I have already been off so much, I wasn't too happy about it.
What can you do?

Since we had Thursday off, I took Gage and Travis to see "The Hangover Part 2".
It was a lot funnier than I thought it would be! Pretty much the same as the first one, but still funny.

I don't mind watching Bradley Cooper too much either.

One of my favorite actresses is:

Kristen Wiig!!!

She is freaking hilarious on Saturday Night Live. I love every one of the characters that she plays.

So, needless to say, I was super excited when I started seeing the previews to "Bridesmaids".

I've been saying I'm going to go see it since it came out...I just never did.

BUT....I did today!!! And I LOVED it!!!!
I went with Gage and Ashley and they loved it too!!
It was so, so, so funny.
Like...really funny.
Like...laugh out loud in the theater funny...which I try not to do.
I hate when people laugh, and laugh, and keep laughing...to the point that you miss what's happening next.
But I did LOL a lot during this movie. ;)

The girl on the far left....don't know who she is, but she had me cracking up!!! I loved her!!

Two movies you should definitely see...if I do say so myself!! :)

So, this morning I woke up around 6:30 and started cleaning house about 7:00. Zac woke up about 9:00, which is about the time that I decided to take a break and prop up my foot.

He came in, sat down on the couch, and started playing with my toes.
He said,"This little piggy went to the market, this little piggy stayed home. This little piggy fell off the porch......"

Oh no, you didn't!!
hahaha. Smart ass.

I carried a watermelon.....?

I may be the silliest person on Earth....but I freaking LOVE dance movies.

Dirty Dancing. OMG. I have to watch this movie EVERY time it comes on tv.
It's classic.
I even went to go see it at the movie theater with Marianne and Mickey. It was amazing.

"Nobody puts Baby in the corner."

Footloose.
OMG. Also another classic.
You gotta love Kevin Bacon, right??

"You ever been busted for bopping?"

Ok, I definitely get made fun of for this one...but I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Step Up 2: The Streets.
haha. It's so lame, but oh so good.

I just loooove watching people dance.
Maybe it's because I can't.....
how sad.

But, I'm still a little embarrassed to admit that yesterday....I was home (child free/Gage was in his room and Zac had gone to his nana's to stay the night) and I watched Another Cinderella Story....and I liked it. A lot.

Ummm, I may have even recorded it, for future viewing.
I can't help it!!

Marianne and I used to spend hours on YouTube watching dancing videos! I LOVE it!

Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, Michael Jackson
Ohhh, it's so wonderful. just wonderful.

Felon

I watched another Stephen Dorff movie this weekend! :)
I guess I'm going to look up all his movies and watch them!

This one is about a normal guy, with a fiance and a son.
He owns his own business, he's just working to support his family.
A good guy. A hot guy.

One night he wakes up and hears someone in his house. He chases the guy outside, telling him to stop. The guy reaches into his pocket and starts to turn and Wade (hottie Stephen Dorff) whacks him with a baseball bat. :(

The guy dies and Wade is sent to prison for involuntary manslaughter.
So, now this regular joe has to adapt to prison life.
It's so sad.

Added bonus....Val Kilmer!
Ahhh yeah.

Pretty good movie.

If you haven't seen it....check it out, yo!

Somewhere...

Have I ever mentioned my crush on Stephen Dorff?

I know I have a million celebrity crushes, so I may not have mentioned him before....
but yeah.....I have a HUGE crush on him.

Hellloooo, Hottie!

There's this movie I had been wanting to see, with Stephen Dorff.

It's called "Somewhere". I finally watched it last night. I guess I was a little disappointed, because it wasn't as good as the previews made it out to be.
But...that happens a lot.

And I can't really complain....because, uh....hello, it was Stephen Dorff. And he's hot!!

So, yeah.....I'd watch it again. Just to look at him.

yum.

He was actually in one of my favorite movies when I was little (and he was little...we're so meant to be together).

It was called "The Gate".
It was like a kid's scary movie. Gage loved it too when he was little.
I love passing on my favorite movies to my kids! :)

Country Strong

Was such a freaking WEAK movie.
It was horrible!!!
I've never really been a fan of Gwyneth Paltrow, but there are few movies I like her in. She's a decent actress.....but seriously...a country singer? Not.

Now, Tim McGraw, I think he's turned out to be a pretty good actor. I was a little disappointed when I first heard he was going to play in a movie. But he proved to be pretty good.
I guess I just have a problem with actors turning singers and singers turning actors.
It's ridiculous.
Especially actors turning singers. That's annoying.
Billy Bob Thorton, Juliette Lewis, Gwyneth Paltrow....nuh uh!

Ok, back to the movie....the best part of this movie was.........

Yeah. This guy!
Hellooooo! He reminded me that some country, cowboy boot wearing, cowboy hat wearing, hick sounding guys can be pretty freaking hot.
How have I never heard of this guy before? I will be looking up some more of his movies.

Now, to give Gwyneth credit, I think she did a pretty good job being an alcoholic. She played pathetic well.
But my one of my favorite parts she did, that actually made me cry, was this part:

She does a "meet and greet" with a little boy who has leukemia. The boy is adorable and so is Gwyneth. Best.part.of.the.movie.

I'll give it......2 stars, one for that one scene (sick boy) and one for the hot, young, country singing guy. :)

The Fighter

I LOVED this movie. It was so wonderful.

Mark Wahlberg was amazing....of course. Isn't he always? *yum*

Amy Adams did such a good job, too!!

And Christian Bale. OMG. Christian Bale was disgusting. He was perfect. I love Christian Bale, he's pretty hot....but man, they had him looking rough!!

I laughed, I cried, I fell in love with Mark Wahlberg all over again. :)

It's a good one....

There are some movies you watch that just stay with you. Long after you've watched them. The ones that usually stay with me, are the ones about kids. Have you ever seen "Thirteen"? Oh my gosh...that movie stayed with me for dayyyyyys. It's heartbreaking. Another one....this movie I watched again last night after a couple years. I have it on DVD and watch it every couple years. The first time I saw it, Gage was just a baby.

KIDS

It's the first movie that Rosario Dawson and Chloe Sevingy were in. I fell in love with Chloe Sevingy. Her character broke my heart, over and over again.

I just think she is so pretty!

If you haven't seen this movie, you must. It is heartbreaking.

and scary.

Like I said, I first saw this when Gage was just a baby. I was terrified.

What kind of world have I brought my child into??

It's eye opening.

I now want Gage to watch this movie....but at the same time, I'm a little scared that maybe it's a little too fast for him? I don't know.

Anyways.....it's a good one...if you haven't seen it...check it out!!!

Tuesday, March 22, 2011

Let's do it for Johnny!!

I'm thinking today is an "Outsiders" day. Dally came into my mind....I need to go watch him now. :)
"I hope I never see Dallas Winston again. If I do, I'd....probably fall in love with him."

best. movie.ever.

My weekend....

I know you're DYING to know what I did this weekend!! So, let me fill you in on the greatness....

Friday I went shopping with Marianne. But does it really count as shopping if you don't even buy anything? Oh well, it was fun walking around, looking at clothes, talking anyways....
Then I went home and caught up on some tv. Fun stuff.
Saturday, I picked up Gage and his friend Cody, from Cody's house. We went and ate at Sevi's. then he and Cody watched Lucia and Jack while me and Leah went to buy me a new washing machine.
Yeah, mine quit spinning. Did you know it really sucks having to wring out your clothes because they're soaking wet. I'm glad I didn't live back in the days when you had to scrub and wring out and hang up your clothes. I'm just too lazy for all that.
Saturday night me, Leah, Lucia, Jack, Gage, and Cody all went to the St Paddy's Festival downtown.

Jack and Lucia immediately wanted a turkey leg.
Those things are bigger than the kids!!!

Lucia found this awesome green bow that she just had to have.
Her head looks so small in between the giant bow and huge turkey leg!!
Marianne met up with us...but way later and of course, my sister was ready to go by then, Jack was tired. We had already been there for a couple hours, so we talked for a bit, then headed home.

I cleaned up a little bit and headed to bed.
Sunday morning, I went to pick up Zac from his nana's and of course, Lowe's decides to come at the exact moment to deliver my washer! Luckily he was talking to my landlord, so I got back in time to let him in.
Once he had it hooked up, I went CRAZY doing laundry!! Wow. It's so easy to do now!! I LOVE IT! :)
Who knew I could get so excited about a washing machine???
While folding laundry, I watched a couple movies that I rented the day before.
First one being "127 Hours"
OMG! I LOVED this movie. It was so good. So sad.
I cried at the end.
I love James Franco!

Then I watched "The Romantics".
It's was aight.
It was pretty much a wanna be "St Elmo's Fire" remake.....wasn't even close in being as wonderful.
It's about a close knit group of friends that date eachother and break up and date the other, who end up with the wrong one in the end...blah, blah, blah.
Like I said...it was aight. :)

THEN Sunday night....I was up all night. Stupid time change.
I'm exhausted today :(
I just want to go home and nap.
Thank God it's only a 3 day work week for me! Then I'm off to see the family! yay!

Saturday Night.

Tonight, Gage and his girlfriend, Melissa, baby sat Lucia and Jack while me and Leah went to a movie.
Lucia had a good time with them.
She painted Gage and Melissa's nails and did their hair up in bows. :)
Gage painted Lucia and Jack's nails, too.

What movie did I see, you ask? Well, "Blue Valentine" of course.
Can I just say that Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams were wonderful in this movie.

They played the parts perfect. My heart ached watching it.
I could really relate to Michelle's role and it was heartbreaking.
To be in a marriage that just...isn't. To get to that point where you just can't take it anymore. For him to touch you, makes you cringe. To feel like you have to "be with" him, because you're married and feel that it's your "duty".
To want so bad to make it work, because you know that's what they want...but you're just to the point where you can't. You just can't.
I've been there.
And Ryan's part. I saw him in his part, too.
The constant need for attention. The child-like behavior. The thinking that they're so funny, when really...they're just annoying.
Also the sadness of seeing them try so hard, but that trying so hard only pushes you further away.

It's just a perfect story.

Dean (Ryan Gosling):
I feel like men are more romantic than women. When we get married we marry, like, one girl, 'cause we're resistant the whole way until we meet one girl and we think I'd be an idiot if I didn't marry this girl she's so great. But it seems like girls get to a place where they just kinda pick the best option... 'Oh he's got a good job.' I mean they spend their whole life looking for Prince Charming and then they marry the guy who's got a good job and is gonna stick around.

Finally....

I am so excited that "Blue Valentine" FINALLY came here!! I'm going to see it tomorrow, ferrr surrre, baby!
I will come armed with tons of tissue, because I KNOW I'm going to need it. I've been waiting for this movie to play here, but I thought I was going to have to wait for it to come out on DVD!
Yay!

I LOVE RYAN GOSLING!!!! In EVERYthing he does. I have not seen a movie of his that I don't love. He's brilliant.

Know who else I love? This is a fairly new crush.
Sam Rockwell. I've always loved him in everything. He's awesome.
But I kinda have a crush on him now. :)

Have you seen "Conviction"? It was wonderful! Hilary Swank is another one that is awesome in everything.

I just love movies.
AND BOOKS! I'm reading "Water for Elephants". It took me a bit to get into it, but now I can't put it down!!
I guess I just love escaping from reality. :)

Speaking of reality, Zac's appointment went well yesterday.
The doctor seems to think that medication for his anxiety would benefit him more than ADHD medication. He thinks that the anxiety is causing his inability to focus.
So, last night we started Lexapro. We're ready to see how this will work for him.
Hopefully it helps the anxiety and hopefully it will also help him with his little ticks (blinking, hand movements).

We shall see.
I'm so glad it's the weekend. I haven't been able to get much sleep, since the weather has been bad. Staying the night at my sister's to be closer to work...I stay up later. Watching movies, hanging with the kids. Ugh! I need my 8 hours!!!
Speaking of watching movies, we watched "Paranormal Activity 2". It wasn't as good as the first one, but I liked it. Zac, Lucia, and Jack were all line up on the couch with a blanket pulled up over their noses, watching with us. They were scared, but unable to tear their eyes away. :)
Good stuff.

Monday Night, baybuh!

Apparently the big winter storm is about to hit us! I hate the cold weather! :( Ice, snow, wind, freezing temps. UGH! So, of course, like I always do....I'm staying the night at my sisters. I live about 15 minutes from town, so the least amount of driving in the crappy weather, the better.
No option in missing work, since everyone else lives further away than me!! haha.
So, before heading over to her house, Lucia called and asked me to bring over some movies. She said they can be scary OR funny! We're watching "Can't Buy Me Love" right now. :) Loooove this movie!!!
"I mean, he went from totally geek, to totally chic!"
Then later, we're going to watch "Scream"! :) Always a favorite of mine!!
No matter how retarded you think I am....I am super excited about "Scream 4" coming out. Seriously. :)

Friday, January 28, 2011

It's Friday!! And I just had two days off...two more to go! YAY!

Dear Mr. Scorpion,

I know this is Texas. I know the weather is sometimes in the 70's in January...as it is supposed to be this weekend! I'm super excited about it, too! But yesterday morning at 6:45 a.m., it was still 25 degrees outside.
So, I'm just wondering why you felt the need to make an appearance in my home?

Now, I do want to thank you for not stinging my 14 year old son as he threw you from his neck! But you did still put the fear in me. I mean, did you see me as I was cleaning Gage's nasty room? Looking in every direction at the same time. Oh wait....I guess you didn't see me, since you got flushed down the toilet.
Please don't be mad about that. It was for your own good. It was seriously too cold for you to be out just yet. I hope you were the only one venturing out, to see if it was safe. I hope that your "friends" notice that you haven't returned and realize that it's not safe.
Love, Steph

And to all you people that tell me,"Oh my gosh! If there's one out already, just imagine what this summer is going to be like..." I KNOW! Ugh! I freaking know!!! Damn country living.
This weekend I will be spraying. :)

On to a happier note....I was off for the past two days, due to low census at work. Love it!
I, obviously, got Gage's room cleaned up yesterday...after the scorpion incident. Then went to see "Black Swan" again. This time with Leah.

I seriously love this movie. :)

During my two days off, I also saw "Easy A". When it first came out, I really didn't care to see it, but I finally gave in and watched it.

I loved it, too!

In fact, I returned it yesterday, then bought it. :)

Ok, that's all I can tell you about right now. I'm at work...was just taking a break. Back to work I go. Pretty busy for just having 6 patients today! Seriously! :)

Happy FRIDAY!!!!

Movies

Two movies I've rented recently; "Buried" and "The Last Exorcism".

From the first time I heard about "Buried" I wondered how in the world it would work. A movie with a guy stuck in a box for an entire movie??
But I thought...if there's anyone I can watch laying in a box for about 2 hours...Ryan Reynolds would be the one.
And that was the movie. Ryan Reynolds in a box. And I loved it. It was really good!!
I caught myself catching my breath every once in a while.
Man, I love Ryan Reynolds. :)

"The Last Exorcism" was good and pretty creepy. I love those scary movies!!

I still need to watch "The Social Network", "Piranha", "Stone", and "Easy A".

Tomorrow is Zac's birthday party! I'm ready to get my bowl on! :)

Saturday, January 15, 2011

The Weekend.

Friday night I FINALLY went to see 'Black Swan'. I remember seeing the previews to this movie forever ago. I couldn't wait for it to come out. I thought for sure I'd have to wait until it came out on DVD. Usually movies like that don't make it here to little ole WF. But it did. And it was just as wonderful as I thought it would be. It was so intense and just.....weird. And crazy. And sad. I thought it was beautifully made. I loved it. There were parts that were a little awkward to watch, but still a great movie. I would definitely see it again.
Saturday I finally watched 'Catfish'. Another movie I had seen the previews to that I wanted to see. I was counting the days until it came out on DVD. It finally did....I went to Redbox....they didn't have it. I was buying groceries at Wal Mart and went to the movie section...they didn't have it! Ugh....I had to bite the bullet and pay Gage's $10 late fee at Hastings (forgotten rented Call of Duty game) and rent it there. It was so worth it. Another awesome movie. I'm going to have to buy both of these movies! :)
Soooo, Zackary's 8th birthday is today. He's with his dad, last night I told him I would take him and his bubba out to eat....anywhere he wants to go for his birthday. I knew where he would chose to go. The same place he chose last year...the same place he wants everytime I say, "Let's go out to eat.....what do y'all want?" His answer,"Los Tres Amigos!" Usually I say no to that. I think their food is just ok. But it's his birthday....so Los Tres Amigos it is. And it was absolutely HORRIBLE. The service sucked, the food sucked, the long wait time sucked. And when you say you have a birthday, all the waiters and waitresses are supposed to bring the birthday person a sombrero (sp?) and all sing 'Happy Birthday' to them. I told our sucky waiter it was my son's birthday, he said ok and walked away. Then came back 10 minutes later and said,"Everyone is too busy. Sorry." (which I had to ask him what he said 3 times....everytime he talked to us....because he mumbled) Seriously? Everyone's too busy to come over for 45 seconds to sing happy birthday to my 8 year old son that chose your sucky ass restaurant (of all places) for his birthday dinner? Seriously? Then he charged me something on my ticket that we didn't even have!! What a horrible way to spend a birthday dinner. I felt bad for Zac. Amount Due $23.76 plus tip.....$23.76. No tips for you, jackass. We will NEVER go there again. Fer realz. At least we still have his birthday party to look forward to next Saturday! Hopefully that will be a better experience for all. So, today I've been cleaning house all day. Getting ready for another work week.

4 Days until Christmas...whaaa whaaa?

I'm at my sister's, watching Legion, listening to her and Adrien scream like little girls. haha.
I love this movie.

We went to eat at Jalapeno Tree....Lucia's reward for picking up the most dog poop. Then we went and got some wine. All six kids are in the back playing while we watch this good movie! :)
I love having days off during the week!
I'm off tomorrow. So, me and Zac are staying the night at Leah's tonight. We'll get up early and go get pick up Gage from his sister's.
Then have lunch with my cousin (in law).
Then the boys are going to open presents!
Zac will be at his dad's Thursday night and til noon on Christmas Eve, then to mom's. So, I'm letting the boys open presents early and together tomorrow. They're super excited! :)
Zac's dad didn't know where to go for Zac's appointment on Saturday, so it was rescheduled to Thursday. Sooo, he'll have his first therapy session Thursday at 2!
I have to work Thursday, but then I'll be off Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday!!
Awesome!!
Man, I'm tired. I think I'm gonna finish up this movie and head off to bed! Good night, my peeps!

Friday, December 10, 2010

Help me, help me!!!

So, last Friday I was watching "Last House on the Left"...the new one. Have you seen it? It's pretty.....uh, disturbing. I may have blogged about it before, I'm not sure.

Anyways, Gage was at his friend Travis's house and Zac was with his dad.
It's almost 9:00 p.m., I'm watching Last House on the Left and decorating Christmas packages, and I hear a knock on my door! Whaaaat? Who could possibly be knocking at my door?
I live out in the middle of nowhere. It's dark. Beauty is in the backyard, barking.
I never have anyone just show up at my house, especially at that hour. Yes, I'm lame, everyone who knows me knows I go to bed super early!!
I slowly open the door and the first thing I see is a cop car.
Then I see a HUGE police officer. He was kinda scary looking. He has tattoos all over and one tattoo that stood out was the spiderweb on the elbow tattoo.

And I think.....one of my ex-boyfriends and his friends had that tattoo!
It's a trick! It's someone pretending to be a police officer, he's going to come through my door and...and....well, there's no telling what!!! And he could even really BE a cop...but a bad cop! I can only imagine! I watch Snapped! I watch Forensic Files! I watch Cold Case Files! I watch all those shows...I know being out in the middle of nowhere all alone...it's just something horrible waiting to happen!
So, he turns around as I'm opening the door and in his hand he has.....
wait for it
wait for it
wait for it.......
Court papers for my child support. Yes. I get to go to court AGAIN for the $22,000 Gage owes me for child support. He will not be there. What's the point in me going?
Of all the things I imagined that could happen to me....I never thought it would be that horrible!! haha.
just kidding.
But I did get scared when I heard the knock on the door!!

A Christmas Story

A Christmas Story. Classic. I love this movie! The pink bunny suit, "fuuuuudge", the sexy leg lamp, "You'll poke your eye out!"

One part I could never watch and always turned my head on, was when the boy got his tongue stuck to the pole. Just thinking about it gives me the chills. Ugh.

So, Friday night Gage stayed the night with James. I went to pick him up last night, and oh.my.gosh. I don't want to be one of "those people", but he smelled like a dirty ash tray. The smell made my stomach turn.
I wondered if that was I would smell like when I smoked! Ew.

Looks nasty, right? Stinks really bad, right?
Doesn't mean I don't still want one everyday!!
Soooo, I'm watching Beverly Hills 90210...the original. It's still wonderful, but man, this is some bad acting!!
But I still think Dylan is still the hottie of the show. :)

Wednesday, December 1, 2010

Let's see how long they can keep us waiting.....

December 1st. Here comes the Zackary count down. Everyday is....how many more days until Christmas? Well, how many days until Christmas Eve? I mean, everyday he'll be asking!!

One of my all time favorite Christmas movies......National Lampoons Christmas Vacation!
classic.

So, we had Zac's doctor appointment today. It lasted a little over three hours, which is better than the four hours they said it would be.
I read about 15 chapters of a book my sister let me borrow called "The Doctor's Wife". It's pretty good. It made the time go by pretty fast.
Of course, it was stupid of me to think they'd tell me anything today.
Of course, I have to go back on the 16 for the test results.
I hate all this waiting.
Oh well. Off to church we go!! :)
Then home to watch 'Survivor'! looooove it!

Cat's Eye

I'm a huge fan of Stephen King. Like, seriously. He's so awesome. I love his mind and the way it works. I love the way his stories stay with you. Sometimes they stay with you because they scare the crap out of you, but sometimes they stay with you just because they make you think.
I'll admit there have been a few of his books that have given me nightmares. Bag of Bones gave me nightmares for two weeks straight after reading it.
Gerald's Game left me laying awake in bed, staring into the darkness, wondering if something or someone was there...hidden. Pet Sematary scared me so bad, I had to get it out of my room. I hid it under my couch in the living room. I'm not kidding.
Why do I do that to myself? Because I absolutely love it! I love being scared!
So, when I was little I watched Stephen King's Cat's Eye with my mom and sister.
It scared me so bad! It's a film of 3 or 4 short movies. The one that scared me the most is about a little goblin thing that comes into a little girl's room (little girl played by Drew Barrymore) each night (through a hole that opens up in the wall), and tries to suck out her breath while she sleeps.

This is the scary little goblin. See the little bells at the end of his hat? When he's climbing up her comforter in the middle of the night, you can faintly hear them jingling.

Don't you just love Drew Barrymore? She was always so cute!
Anyway, this cat is in everyone of the short films. He shows up at Barrymore's house, she names him General. She wants to keep him, but mama says NO! She sneaks that kitty in without her mama knowing! And thank God she does, because General is there to save little Drew!!

Good stories! If you've never seen it, you should!
What got me thinking about Cat's Eye? Well, I woke up in the middle of the night. Do you ever do that? Wake up and feel like something woke you up, but you can't quite put your finger on what it was. Well, I did that. I was laying there, thinking....did Zac get up? Did someone knock on my door? Are the dogs barking?
So, I layed there a little longer, listening real hard. I didn't hear anything. So, I started drifting back to sleep. Then I heard a little jingle. And the Cat's Eye goblin came to mind. Oh my gosh! He's in my room! He woke me up by trying to suck the breath out of me!!
haha. Sounds retarded, right?
Well, I'll tell you what....it's not retarded at 12:45 a night! It's oh so real!
Today, it is silly. But I still wonder....what was that one little jingle in my room???
