Big, hairy spider
Come Tuesday, I may have a change of heart :)
My ankle is feeling better. I'm getting around better, with my big, black boot. It's really quite sexy, I assure you.
On the bright side....in addition to the scorpions, coyotes, and other lovely creatures I have come in contact with while living out in the country this past year, I can now add tarantulas to that list.
Seriously?
Tarantulas.
I'm usually a visual person, and I like to post pictures for my readers, so they can get the full effect of what I'm writing about. But I am sooooo deathly afraid of spiders, that when I tried to google a picture of a tarantula for you, I literally felt my chest tighten at the sight...so, I'm sure you've seen a tarantula before...you know what they look like.
If not, google it yourself.
They're big, hairy, fat, scary, jumping spiders. And I'm terrified of them. They're huge.
So far, I've seen two in the backyard, but my wonderful pit Beauty, took care of those. :)
But yesterday there was a LIVE one on my storage building in the front yard!!
It was creeping up the building with it's long, hairy legs.
UGH!!!
It may be time to move again. :)
Ok, not really. But I can only handle so much!

In the Mouth of Madness
I started thinking,"Oh my gosh. I'm in a Stephen King book! The same thing is going to keep happening over and over. The road is never going to end!" Yes, I read too many Stephen King books. But that's ok. Because while it's scary, it's oh so fun! :)
I finally got to the highway. There are NO lights along the highway. All I see are my headlights and the lines on the road.
This is where I really get scared, because I start thinking about the movie "In the Mouth of Madness". Have you ever seen this movie??
It's been years since I've seen it. There is one part that I remember very well. A guy driving down a dark road and he see what he thinks is a boy riding a bike down the middle of the road.
Scary.
Oh my gosh!!! This movie scared me to death!! I haven't watched it since. But I may have to watch it again. I've forgotten what it's all about.
Leah KNOWS this part of the movie scares me. So, I'm focusing on driving in the fog at 5:20 in the morning, just me on the road...thinking about this scary man face, hoping I don't see anything...and my phone dings. I got a text message and I jumped so high, my heart was racing.
It was Leah. I texted her back and told her that I'm trying to pay attention; the fog is scary and she scared the crap out of me!
So, I drop off Gage at her house (he rides the bus from her house every morning) and I head to work. Then I get another text message from her.
It says:
Hope you don't see a little boy with long white hair and an old mans face riding a bike down the middle of the road by your work or in your parking lot.
UGH!!
She knows I open that freaking place! She knows it's just me for a while before anyone else shows up!!
She KNOWS this!!
I was scared. haha.
I finally got to work and briskly walked to the door, unlocked it, and went inside to turn the alarm off. I didn't run like I wanted to. Like I did when I went out that morning to start my car...I may have jumped out of the car and ran back into the house to shut and lock the door.
Anyways, I get to the time clock and realize I left my badge in the car.
Nuh-uh!!! No way! I'm not going back out there. haha. So, I left Brenda a note and told her I forgot my badge. :) When she got in, I told her the truth.
I'm a scaredy cat.
But man, it's fun to be scared! haha.

Oh...by the way...
Friday I have to go to court for the 5 hundred millionth time! UGH! What is the point?? Five years and $23,000 + of back child support....there is really no reason. Oh well, at least I can say I'm doing my part. blah.
The the week after next, I'm FINALLY taking Beauty to get her fixed. I can't handle puppies again!! I wanted to keep them all!! And I don't even like animals all that much :)
Soooo, I seem to have accomplished the quitting smoking. I have not had a cigarette since September...something. My new goal, give up Dr Pepper. If you know me, you know this is REALLY going to be a challenge. More so than cigarettes I think. I started smoking when I was 15. I started my addiction to Dr Pepper at age 11. All I drink all day, everyday is Dr Pepper. I'm on day 2 of no Dr Pepper. I had a major head ache yesterday, but today I'm doing ok. :) Hopefully I can do this! |

Oh no, you didn't
You leave your sister's house to pick up your son from the movies....(date with his girlfriend).
That is a scary thing. Your 14 year old son on a date! haha.
But when you get back to your sister's house, you open the garage door and walk into the garage.
Hiding over to the side....you see something jerkily coming towards you...and it's this face...
Yeah. My sister looooves to scare me. I jumped and covered my face and yelled,"Good God, Almighty!!!" haha.
I, of course, did not get a picture of my sister in the mask, so I made Jack put it on...just so you could get a visual. :)
Yeah, my heart is still racing.

Cat's Eye
I'll admit there have been a few of his books that have given me nightmares. Bag of Bones gave me nightmares for two weeks straight after reading it.
Gerald's Game left me laying awake in bed, staring into the darkness, wondering if something or someone was there...hidden. Pet Sematary scared me so bad, I had to get it out of my room. I hid it under my couch in the living room. I'm not kidding.
Why do I do that to myself? Because I absolutely love it! I love being scared!
So, when I was little I watched Stephen King's Cat's Eye with my mom and sister.
It scared me so bad! It's a film of 3 or 4 short movies. The one that scared me the most is about a little goblin thing that comes into a little girl's room (little girl played by Drew Barrymore) each night (through a hole that opens up in the wall), and tries to suck out her breath while she sleeps.
This is the scary little goblin. See the little bells at the end of his hat? When he's climbing up her comforter in the middle of the night, you can faintly hear them jingling.

Don't you just love Drew Barrymore? She was always so cute!
Anyway, this cat is in everyone of the short films. He shows up at Barrymore's house, she names him General. She wants to keep him, but mama says NO! She sneaks that kitty in without her mama knowing! And thank God she does, because General is there to save little Drew!!

Just a Wee Bit
{one} have you ever seen a ghost?
Well, obviously.....
One night (when I was married) I woke in the middle of night and sat up in bed. I could see into the living room from my room. I saw Russ get up from the couch and walk past the bedroom door to the front door. I wondered what he was doing...if he heard something outside...
But then I realized, he was at the firestation, working. He wasn't even home!! I slowly got out of bed, tip toed to my door, peeked out....and saw nothing.
I jumped back in bed, covered up to my nose and eyeballed the living room for a long time before I fell back to sleep.
The end.
{two} when was the last time you dressed up for halloween?
The year before last. So, 2008. I was a flapper.
{three} what’s your favorite candy?
Oh, I don't know. I have to be in the mood to eat candy....and it's really not often that I am. But when I do want some, I usually want a Hershey bar and a jar of peanut butter to eat it with :)
{four} did you have a favorite costume growing up?
Yeah, a punk rocker! I was a punk rocker EVERY year when I was little. haha.
{five} did you carve pumpkins this year?
My boys and I carve pumpkins every year. We haven't yet this year though.....guess we better get started on that.
{six} what’s your favorite scary movie?
Ohhh, I have so many!! I love the scary, scary ones and I love the funny scary ones. I've always loved the Scream movies! I'm so excited to see Scream 4! Yes, they get more and more lame, the more they make...but that's the same with all sequels. I loved the first Scream and part 2 and part 3. I know I will love 4!
But I also love Paranormal Activity, The Strangers, The Omen, Rosemary's Baby, and of course, as mentioned in my previous post, Halloween.
{seven} haunted houses or corn mazes?
Haunted House!
{eight} are you superstitious?
I try not to be, but I catch myself sometimes. :)
{nine} have you ever owned a black cat?
We've owned every kind of cat you can imagine. Me and my sister used to find strays and bring them home!
{ten} what are you plans for this coming halloween?
Well, Saturday they're having a little carnival type thing (at the church) that they have every year. I usually take the boys with Leah and her kiddos. But apparently this year Gage is too old and Zac has a Halloween party to go to. :/
Sunday I am taking Zac trick or treating though! :)

I'm just sayin'.
What's scarier than living in the country, leaving your house at 5:15 in the morning, with coyotes howling in the distance.
Leaving your 'in the middle of nowhere' house at 5:15 in the morning, with coyotes howling in the distance,......along with a thick, scary fog...so thick you can't see even like, a foot in front of yourself.
Seriously.
I think I watch too many scary movies to be living so far out. haha. But I still love it. It is peaceful. As far as not having annoying neighbors knocking on my door everyday....and that type of thing.
Jauque's in-laws live down the road from me, so I've been getting to spend a little more time with her. She comes over a few times a week, which is nice. :)
Leah and the kiddos came out Monday night and we cooked dinner. It's nice to have a house that is big enough to have company :)
Well, I better get off the computer. It's about time to head to church! :)
Holllla! ;)
