Cat's Eye

I'm a huge fan of Stephen King. Like, seriously. He's so awesome. I love his mind and the way it works. I love the way his stories stay with you. Sometimes they stay with you because they scare the crap out of you, but sometimes they stay with you just because they make you think.
I'll admit there have been a few of his books that have given me nightmares. Bag of Bones gave me nightmares for two weeks straight after reading it.
Gerald's Game left me laying awake in bed, staring into the darkness, wondering if something or someone was there...hidden. Pet Sematary scared me so bad, I had to get it out of my room. I hid it under my couch in the living room. I'm not kidding.
Why do I do that to myself? Because I absolutely love it! I love being scared!
So, when I was little I watched Stephen King's Cat's Eye with my mom and sister.
It scared me so bad! It's a film of 3 or 4 short movies. The one that scared me the most is about a little goblin thing that comes into a little girl's room (little girl played by Drew Barrymore) each night (through a hole that opens up in the wall), and tries to suck out her breath while she sleeps.

This is the scary little goblin. See the little bells at the end of his hat? When he's climbing up her comforter in the middle of the night, you can faintly hear them jingling.

Don't you just love Drew Barrymore? She was always so cute!
Anyway, this cat is in everyone of the short films. He shows up at Barrymore's house, she names him General. She wants to keep him, but mama says NO! She sneaks that kitty in without her mama knowing! And thank God she does, because General is there to save little Drew!!

Good stories! If you've never seen it, you should!
What got me thinking about Cat's Eye? Well, I woke up in the middle of the night. Do you ever do that? Wake up and feel like something woke you up, but you can't quite put your finger on what it was. Well, I did that. I was laying there, thinking....did Zac get up? Did someone knock on my door? Are the dogs barking?
So, I layed there a little longer, listening real hard. I didn't hear anything. So, I started drifting back to sleep. Then I heard a little jingle. And the Cat's Eye goblin came to mind. Oh my gosh! He's in my room! He woke me up by trying to suck the breath out of me!!
haha. Sounds retarded, right?
Well, I'll tell you what....it's not retarded at 12:45 a night! It's oh so real!
Today, it is silly. But I still wonder....what was that one little jingle in my room???

Omg!!! One scary post - I'm a big time scaredy cat, yet I love to watch scary movies. Why? To torture myself I guess. Even though I get nightmares and need to sleep with the light on and squish myself next to Humbe - Haha! Example: I went to see Paranormal Activity 2 and watched it through my fingers. I know I know nothing compared to Stephen King but big secret here I've experienced supernatural stuff. I would have lost it hearing the jingly sound. Good luck Steph!!! Wishing you sweet dreams tonight ; )
