I just want the bed to myself!

Meet Stripes, she is Zac's kitten.

Meet Rebel, she is Gage's kitten.

Can anyone tell me why I agree to let my children have pets? Knowing that I will have to take care of them. Knowing that it's summertime and my boys are NEVER home...which leaves just me.
I don't even like animals!
Seriously. I don't.

But they now know me as their caretaker. They won't leave me alone!! They're attached.

This is the ghetto door to my bedroom, see the huge gap between the door and the floor?

Yeah, they sneak through this gap when I go to bed, they climb up in my bed and work their way under the covers, to the bend of my knees or the bend of my arms, or on my head, kneading my hair.
ugh!!!! I can't stand it!!
So, I decided to barricade the door.
I pushed shoes up under the door, towels, blankets, NOTHING worked!
They were determined to get in bed with me. No matter what I put against the door, they worked their way in. No matter how long it took.

So, last week I found the solution. Tape. Cats hate tape, right?
My ghetto invention to keep the kittens out.

And it worked!
Then they realized they couldn't get in, so it's a race every night to get to my room.

They wait for the signs.
I turn off the tv, they get up.
I turn off the light, they run to my feet.
I start walking to my room, they take off running.
By the time I get there, they're hidden very well.

UGH!!

So, I have to hunt them down. In the closet? Under the bed? Behind the dresser? In the bathroom?
I never know. Then when I finally catch them to toss them out...the minute I pick them up, they start purring. Awww, I feel so bad!!
But I canNOT stand animals in bed with me.
Zac is gone with his dad this month. I thought I'd be free from things sneaking in bed with me....guess that's what I get for thinking.

Ummm....ok?

My aunt Lisa and her daughter went on vacation this past week. When driving home, they stopped for a break. She sent me this picture/text.

"At a gas station restroom in Lafayette La."

Wow. So many questions....

haha.

heavy heart

I don't know what's wrong with me lately, but I seem to be a sentimental, emotional wreck.
I feel like I have this huge hole in my heart.
I feel like I need to make amends.
I feel like I need to forgive anyone who I think has wronged me in some way.
I feel like I need to apologize to anyone I may have wronged in some way.
I don't understand where it's all coming from, but I've been feeling this way for a while.
I've been feeling guilty for things that I've done, even years ago.
I want to reach out to people I've passed without a thought of what's going on in their lives, too caught up in my own to notice.
I hate that I often don't give people a chance.
For some reason I've had an urge to apologize.
To my ex-husband for leaving the way I did.
I was young and stupid
Would I ever go back to him? No, I know leaving was right. I just didn't do it the right way.
I'm thankful that he has found someone to be with, who is good to him and Zac.
I've been wanting to apologize to my friend who was going through a divorce last year, who needed a friend, but I blew him off. I was too caught up in my own life to take the time to just be there for him.
I want to forgive Gage's dad for the past 5 years. I've been praying for that. I've also been praying that he will forgive himself and see that a change needs to be made.
Not only for our son, but for himself.
I feel like somewhere along the way, my heart has gone hard.
I've taken too many things for granted.
I've taken too many things personal and closed myself off to so many people.
I feel like I haven't been the friend or person that I should be. It breaks my heart.
As hurtful as these emotions are feeling, I hope they don't go away. They make me want to change, I want to be a better person.

Just kiddin'

Last night I took the boys out to eat.
Gage, Zac, and Gage's friend Travis....who is practically my son, too.
We went to Logan's Roadhouse because I was craving a steak! :)
The boys starting telling jokes. They were so stupid, you couldn't help but laugh.
So, I'm going to share them with you!

Q: What did zero say to eight?
A: Nice belt
0 8
(get it? hahaha.)

Q: What do you call a one eyed deer?
A: No idear

Q: What do you call a one eyed deer with no legs?
A: Still no idear

Q: What smells like bananas and is invisible?
A: A monkey's fart

bahahahaha. You gotta love kids' jokes!!

Today is going to be a good day.
It's Friday.
It's payday.
I listened to some Eminem on the way to work today, while sipping on my Skinny Vanilla Latte.
Those four things make me happy! :)

Plus....I'm childfree this weekend...and able to get around with this stupid boot!!! :)
