Day 30: LAST DAY....finally. ;)

Day 30 of the 30 Day Challenge

Day 30: Whatever Tickles your Fancy

Hallelujah.

It's finally the last day of the 30 Day Challenge. Aren't you so proud of me for finishing something? That's not easy for me, ya know. I'm all about STARTING projects, but not finishing them.

So, it's Wednesday, I guess I'll do Leigh Ashley's Wee Bit post/questions and whatnot......because you know what???....THAT is what tickles my fancy today.

{one} what is your happiest childhood memory?
When we lived in Decatur and I was about 7 or so. Leah was about 10, there was a huge forest/ditch out behind where we lived. People would to dump things they didn't want down there. Couches, dressers, all kinds of stuff. So, me and my sis, along with some of our friends, built a club house in the ditch, surrounded by trees. We rummaged around and brought the best thrown out furniture we could find. Playing in the ditch and at our club house was the best time. Even if our mom made us strip down when we got inside to check us for ticks. Because we usually had AT LEAST one on us everytime. haha. Gross.

{two} what is your middle name?
I don't really tell people my middle name. Until recently. So, I'll go ahead and tell ya...it's Doris. My Mee Maw's name.

{three} what’s the habit you’re most proud of breaking?
I would say smoking. But I'm not sure I can really be proud of that just yet. I just quit on Sunday. Saturday was my last cigarette. I've quit numerous times....I'm just hoping I can do it for real. But man, I've been cranky!

{four} what do you order when you order chinese food?
I usually get hot and sour chicken and vegetable lo mein.

{five} what’s the best bargain you’ve ever found at a garage sale or thrift store?
I don't do much garage saling or thrifting. I mean, I have. And it is fun....I just don't really do it much. Can't really think of any bargains.

{six} what’s the best costume you’ve ever worn?
I would say this one. I was Madonna and my ex was Dennis Rodman. I think they were the best costumes EVER! haha.
And I was scared of this Michael Myers! haha.

Man, look at that cigarette in my hand....I sure do want one! Gosh.

{seven} who’s your favorite game show host?
I don't watch Game Shows....unless you count Survivor as a game show. I mean, it kinda is right? I love Survivor and the guy who does that show. He's pretty funny.

{eight} what’s your favorite breakfast food?
I'm not much of a breakfast eater. I mean, I'll eat a Sevi's burrito for breakfast...chorizo, cheese, potato, uhh, hold the egg. Not really breakfast without the egg, but that's what I order. :) Sometimes I eat Blueberry Special K cereal!!

{nine} what’s your least favorite word?
The C-word or the P-word....both referring to the same thing. You know....the vagina...ewww, that word kinda grosses me out too. Really, there's no good word for it.

{ten} describe something that happened to you for which you have no explanation.
Hmmm, nothing really comes to mind at the moment. Let me think about it...and possibly get back to you later. I gotta go pack some more. :)

Peace out.

Day 29: Hopes, Dreams, Plans

Day 29 of the 30 Day Challenge

Day 29: Hopes, Dreams, and Plans for the next 365 days.

While I sometimes really enjoyed doing this little challenge, I must say, I'm very excited that I only have one day left. Not only because I'm kinda tired of being told what to write about ;) But also because I'm moving this weekend. Like in 3 days we're going to start moving. So, me and the boys have been very busy since we got home, packing.
We just had today and we have tomorrow (after school and work) really to do the majority of the packing. Thursday I have to work and the minute I'm off, I'm picking up Gage and then we're heading to Dallas for the Kings of Leon concert. :)

I know everyone says this...but seriously, how can I possibly have so much crap in this little house?? I'm totally throwing all kinds of stuff away. I was going to have a garage sale, but I don't think I'll have time for that. So everything is just going to the dump!!

Ok, so I kind of got off track....so, back to the challenge.

What are my hopes, dreams and plans for the next 365 day?

I hope to become a better: mother, sister, daughter, aunt, friend, niece, cousin, co worker, employee, and just a better person all together each day.
I dream of getting a better job or part time job so I don't have to struggle so much financially. And so that I could be able to buy everything my boys need, when they need it, instead of having to borrow money to do this and constantly owe my mom or sister money. Cause that sucks, yo.
I just want to be comfortable. In my life; mentally, physically, financially....just comfortable.
My plans are: to work on the hopes and dreams that I have.

I know it doesn't seem like much and a lot of people have bigger dreams and hopes for the coming up year, but I'm a simple kinda gal. It doesn't take much to make me happy :)

....Peace out, yo.

Day 24: Whatever Tickles Your Fancy

Day 24 of the 30 Day Challenge

Day 24: Whatever Tickles Your Fancy

What tickles my fancy? More randomness

  • Me and Marianne and my sister and Gage and probably his friend Andrew and Zac and Lucia and Jack are allll going to the fair tonight! It's like tradition. Marianne goes with me and my boys every year. :) She's better than a boyfriend, she's a bff.
  • I'm so excited I only have 6 more days of this challenge. For real, yo.
  • This morning, I woke up and hit snooze like 3 times, then just layed there, thinking how badly I wanted to stay in bed today.
  • When I sat on my floor in front of my long mirror to put on my eyeliner, I started staring at my eyes. Close a little pupils get big, open wide, they get small, wider..smaller. Yes, I already knew this, but I became fascinated with my eyeballs. I stared at them in wonder for a full 5 minutes. That's a long time to stare in a mirror at your eyeballs. Then I thought...dang, I'm tired. I'm just sitting here staring at my eyeballs.....weird.
  • Every patient I checked in today was a freaking idiot. Every.Single.One. And we had 38 patients....that makes for a lot of idiots.
  • I wrote a blog about my crazy neighbor. Then I thought...wow, he knows so much about me already....what if he reads my blog?? Click.Click.Delete.
  • I'm soooo tired of everyone trying to set me up!!!! I am still in the phase of not wanting a boyfriend...or even a hookup, Ashley..thank you very much. haha. I mean, if I happen to meet someone, ok, but nooooooo hook ups, people. That's so not me.
  • I'm thinking........nap before fair?? I'm going to be exhausted tomorrow...and it's another BUSY day! blah.

Yep...nap time. :)

Day 23 of the 30 Day Challenge

Day 23: A Youtube Video

This is my all time favorite Youtube video. I can not count how many times I've watched it. And everytime I watch it, I get goosebumps...then I cry. It's wonderful.

Please watch it. :) You'll be glad you did!

Day 22: A Website

Day 22 of the 30 Day Challenge

Day 22: A website

Today I get to share a website with you. I've mentioned my cousin's baby, Annabel in the 30 Day Challenge before, but now I'll go into a little more detail. :)
My cousin Carrie had a beautiful little girl about a year and a half ago. Her name is Annabel Leigh.
She was born with Trisomy 18. The doctors told Carrie and Jorge that she would likely not make it a week. When they sent her home, they sent Hospice, thinking she wouldn't be around too long. Needless to say, the whole family was heart broken about this special little baby. Carrie and Jorge's first child. But she proved everyone wrong. She's a little fighter!!
She may be about a year and a half....but she only weighs about 11 pounds. She's just recently started eating baby food. She was on a feeding tube for a long time, but now has the one that goes in the belly button....not sure what it's called. Anyways, she practices sucking on bottles, but every little thing wears her out and is hard on her little heart. So, now that she is starting baby food....wow. She is just amazing.
She is the happiest little thing. Always smiling!! It's hard to believe that in just a couple months this little 11 pound baby will be a big sister!!
Check out her blog, read about my cousins beautiful miracle daughter.
Look at her precious little bows!!!
Cute little teeth and big smile!!
She's all dolled up and ready to go shopping with her mama. She's even got a little purse!! :)

Me, Jack, and Annabel at Annabel's big one year birthday bash!!

Day 21: A Recipe

Day 21 of the 30 Day Challenge

Day 21: A recipe

I'm not much of a cook. I have a few things that I do cook, when I do. One of them is a recipe I got from my aunt Brenda. Gage loves it. I made it for the girls at work once, and I'm guessing they loved it, too.....because the big dish of it was wiped clean when I got ready to leave that day. :)
So, here it is.

Chicken Spaghetti

Boil 3 boneless, skinless chicken breast with 1/2 onion. Season with garlic salt.
(we love garlic in this family, so we use a lot...just sayin')
Once the chicken is cooked, take out the chicken and use the same water to boil 12 oz of Vermicelli noodles.
Cook until no water.....or when noodles are done and drain.
Add one can of garlic tomato to the noodles
Add one can of golden mushroom soup to that
Mix it all up real good and then add about 3/4 lb of Velveeta!!
Season with more garlic salt.
Once the cheese is all melted, add the chicken and stir it up.
Put in a casserole dish and top with shredder cheddar cheese.....and you guessed it....more garlic salt. :)
Then put it in the oven, just long enough for the cheddar cheese to melt.

I'm telling you, it's good stuff. With some yummy garlic bread.
I may need to make some this week!

And please, do everyone a favor and brush your teeth when your done eating the garlic....I mean, chicken spaghetti.

Day 20: A Hobby of Yours

Day 20 of the 30 Day Challenge

Day 20: A hobby of Yours

I guess I have a few hobbies. As I said in my last post, I like to draw.
I also started Postcrossing and I love it! Thanks to Marianne and Mickey for writing about it and telling me about it.

Here are the postcards I've received so far! Not only do I love the postcards, but I really love the messages that are written to me. :)

Day 19: A Talent of Yours

Day 19 of the 30 Day Challenge

Day 19: A talent of yours

I don't really have a talent. :) I'm pretty lame. haha. So, I'll just talk about something I like to do...which is draw.
I don't really show people anything I draw, or tell people about it. It's just something I like to do.
Soooooo, you should feel super special....I'm showing you one of the drawings, that I'm currently....drawing. haha.

Day 18: Whatever Tickles Your Fancy

Day 18 of the 30 Day Challenge:

Blah, blah, blah.....whatever tickles your fancy.

I'm seriously getting tired of this challenge. :) But I'm almost done, so...yay.
Ok....a few random thoughts....

Is it just me, or is it weird that a mother and daughter came in to the doctors office today dressed exactly alike? I mean, the daughter was in her late 30's...early 40's.
They had their hair styled exactly the same (except the daughter had two bows in her hair, weird enough on it's own, really.). Same, exact shirt. Knee length blue jean shorts. White Nike socks. Same shoes. Even the same freaking glasses. Is this weird? I think so. I wish I could have taken a picture. It really creeped me out. Needless to say, the daughter was not married. She and her mother had the same last name.
I couldn't help but giggle and shake my head everytime I saw them together...matching...exactly...weird.

I'm soooo tired of being around negative people. I mean, seriously. I've been in a wonderful mood lately and I just get so frustrated when people are negative alllll the time. They just seem to pick at everything, nothing can make them happy. It's so draining!!! I know the whole "misery loves company" saying and all...but so does happiness...happiness loves company!!! Get up here with me!!! Don't try to drag me down with you!!!
Can't we all just get along? Can't we just think positive, be positive???? Please, and thank you.

I'm going to take Gage, Zac, Lucia, Jack, and Lucia's friend to eat at Fuzzy Taco tonight. The name still GROSSES me out....but everyone says it's delish....so, I'll give it a try. :)
Gage is babysitting Lucia, her friend, and Jack while Leah and Dustin go out for their anniversary.....I don't know what's harder to believe...that they've stayed married so long...that she's getting Dustin to go out...or that they're going out child free. It's all so...crazy. haha. By the way, just kidding about the staying married part....kinda ;)
So, I went to get my car inspected, since I accidently scraped that sticker off. As I was checking out the guy says to me,"So, did you scrape off the wrong sticker?"
I was like,"Uhhh, yeah! But it was out anyways!!"
Way to make a girl feel stupid. haha. He laughed at me. I just love it when complete strangers laugh at my stupidity. :)
Ohh, Ohhh, OOHHHHH!! happy Friday. :)

Day Seventeen: An Art Piece

Day Seventeen of the 30 Day Challenge:

An art piece (painting, drawing, sculpture, etc.)

I chose to post one of my favorite pictures I have hanging up in my house. I love this picture because of the frame, the picture, how old timey it looks.
I won this picture when I went to an auction to raise money for my cousin's little girl Annabel Leigh. She was born with Trisomy 18. We had this fund raiser right after she was born. Carrie (my cousin) was told that it was likely she wouldn't make it. Trisomy babies are "incompatible with life". She is now ONE YEAR, 4 MONTHS, 1 WEEK, AND 3 DAYS old! She is a miracle. Which makes this picture even more special to me.

Check out Annabel's blog to see the beautiful miracle yourself. :) In just a couple months she will be a big sister! :)

Day Sixteen: A song that makes you cry (or nearly)

Day Sixteen of the 30 Day Challenge:

A song that makes you cry (or nearly).

Anyone I tell this to, laughs at me. But seriously, it's an Eminem song. It gets me everytime. Maybe it's the pain in his voice as he's singing. Maybe it's just the lyrics. Maybe it's that my dad was never around...or that Gage's dad isn't around.
I don't know exactly. But my eyes tear up EVERY time I hear this Eminem song.

(p.s. I love you, Eminem) ;)

"When I'm Gone"

Yeah...
It's my life...
My own words I guess...

Have you ever loved someone so much, you'd give an arm for?
Not the expression, no, literally give an arm for?
When they know they're your heart
And you know you were their armour
And you will destroy anyone who would try to harm 'her
But what happens when karma, turns right around and bites you?
And everything you stand for, turns on you to spite you?
What happens when you become the main source of her pain?
"Daddy look what I made", Dad's gotta go catch a plane
"Daddy where's Mommy? I can't find Mommy where is she?"
I don't know go play Hailie, baby, your Daddy's busy
Daddy's writing a song, this song ain't gonna write itself
I'll give you one underdog then you gotta swing by yourself
Then turn right around in that song and tell her you love her
And put hands on her mother, who's a spitting image of her
That's Slim Shady, yeah baby, Slim Shady's crazy
Shady made me, but tonight Shady's rocka-by-baby...

And when I'm gone, just carry on, don't mourn
Rejoice every time you hear the sound of my voice
Just know that I'm looking down on you smiling
And I didn't feel a thing, So baby don't feel my pain
Just smile back
And when I'm gone, just carry on, don't mourn
Rejoice every time you hear the sound of my voice
Just know that I'm looking down on you smiling
And I didn't feel a thing, So baby don't feel no pain
Just smile back...

I keep having this dream, I'm pushin' Hailie on the swing
She keeps screaming, she don't want me to sing
"You're making Mommy cry, why? Why is Mommy crying?"
Baby, Daddy ain't leaving no more, "Daddy you're lying
"You always say that, you always say this is the last time
"But you ain't leaving no more, Daddy you're mine"
She's piling boxes in front of the door trying to block it
"Daddy please, Daddy don't leave, Daddy - no stop it!"
Goes in her pocket, pulls out a tiny necklace locket
It's got a picture, "this'll keep you safe Daddy, take it withcha'"
I look up, it's just me standing in the mirror
These fuckin' walls must be talking, cuz man I can hear 'em
They're saying "You've got one more chance to do right" - and it's tonight
Now go out there and show that you love 'em before it's too late
And just as I go to walk out of my bedroom door
It's turns to a stage, they're gone, and this spotlight is on
And I'm singing...

Sixty thousand people, all jumping out their seat
The curtain closes, they're throwing roses at my feet
I take a bow and thank you all for coming out
They're screaming so loud, I take one last look at the crowd
I glance down, I don't believe what I'm seeing
"Daddy it's me, help Mommy, her wrists are bleeding,"
But baby we're in Sweden, how did you get to Sweden?
"I followed you Daddy, you told me that you weren't leavin'
"You lied to me Dad, and now you make Mommy sad
"And I bought you this coin, it says 'Number One Dad'
"That's all I wanted, I just want to give you this coin
"I get the point - fine, me and Mommy are going"
But baby wait, "it's too late Dad, you made the choice
"Now go out there and show 'em that you love 'em more than us"
That's what they want, they want you Marshall, they keep.. screamin' your name
It's no wonder you can't go to sleep, just take another pill
Yeah, I bet you will. You rap about it, yeah, word, k-keep it real
I hear applause, all this time I couldn't see
How could it be, that the curtain is closing on me
I turn around, find a gun on the ground, cock it
Put it to my brain and scream "die Shady" and pop it
The sky darkens, my life flashes, the plane that I was supposed to be on crashes and burns to ashes
That's when I wake up, alarm clock's ringin', there's birds singin'
It's Spring and Hailie's outside swinging, I walk right up to Kim and kiss her
Tell her I miss her, Hailie just smiles and winks at her little sister
Almost as if to say..

Day Fifteen: A Fanfic

Day Fifteen of the 30 Day Challenge:
A fanfic.
Is it totally sad that I had to Google "fanfic"? Am I so out of the loop, that I seriously had no idea what a fanfic was? After googling it....I have to say, it's kinda boring to me. So, since I know nothing about it...and have no favorite, obviously....I'll just give you this website to check out on your own...if ya want. This one is based on Twilight....OF COURSE. I suppose some of the stories are interesting....but eh...not really my thing.
So sorry.

Day Twelve: Whatever Tickles Your Fancy

Day Twelve of the 30 Day Challenge:

Whatever tickles your fancy.

Today I can write about whatever my little heart desires.

So, let's talk about being an aquarius, shall we? haha. I am an aquarius! I received an email from someone once that had each sign and certain traits that the people of each sign have. I think it's pretty interesting. :)

So, I was checking out an astrology website and I took out the parts that remind me a lot of myself.

possess strong and attractive personalities, fall into two principle types: one shy, sensitive, gentle and patient (I'd say I have a pretty strong personality and I'm definitely shy and very sensitive)

strong willed and forceful in their different ways and have strong convictions, though as they seek truth above all things

can see the validity of the argument, even if they do not accept it themselves

they obey the Quaker exhortation to "Be open to truth, from whatever source it comes," and are prepared to learn from everyone

both types are humane, frank, serious minded, genial, refined, sometimes ethereal, and idealistic, though this last quality is tempered with a sensible practicality

are quick, active and persevering without being self-assertive, and express themselves with reason, moderation and sometimes, a dry humor (dry humor? who me?)

nearly always intelligent, concise, clear and logical. many are strongly imaginative and psychically intuitive

both types need to retire from the world at times and to become temporary loners (yep, sounds a lot like me!)

in company they are fiercely independent, refusing to follow the crowd (gurrrl, you know I'm no follower!! :) I'm my own person, yo!)

dislike interference by others, however helpfully intended, and will accept it only on their own terms

normally have good taste in drama, music and art (Uhhh, I like to think so, anyways!)

neither type makes friends easily; sometimes appear to condescend to others and take too little trouble to cultivate the acquaintance of people who do not particularly appeal to them (I guess that's a bad trait, but I can totally see myself there. It takes a lot to get to know me and if I get a certain feeling about you, it takes a lot to change that feeling.)

do not give themselves easily - perhaps their judgment of human nature is too good for that - and are sometimes accounted cold. (I've been told a time or two that I'm cold. haha. I'm really NOT! i swear!)

once they decide that someone is worthy of their friendship or love, they can exert an almost hypnotic and irresistible mental attraction on them and will themselves become tenacious friends or lovers, ready to sacrifice everything for their partners and be faithful to them for life (that's definitely true with me. i guess i make people prove themselves before letting them. But once they're in...they're in, yo! man, aquarians are bitches. don't judge, I can't help what sign I am. :))

sometimes disappointed emotionally because their own high personal ideals cause them to demand more of others than is reasonable (that's definitely true. I always seem to expect too much from people. :/)

if they are deceived their anger is terrible

if disillusioned, they do not forgive. (I've been working on the forgiving part. I'd say I can forgive....can I forget? no. never.)

among the faults to which they are liable are fanatical eccentricity, wayward egotism, excessive detachment and an inclination to retreat from life and society, and a tendency to be extremely dogmatic in their opinions (like I've said before, I go through times when I want to be left alone, no contact with anyone. just be left alone with my thoughts.)

may express a lack of integrity in broken promises, secretiveness or cunning (I'm definitely secretive. my mom used to get so mad at me for being so secretive and not talking to her about things. i keep a lot of stuff to myself.)

simmering anger and resentment, rudeness or, worse, a tense, threatening silence which may suddenly burst out in eruptions of extreme temper, these are all part of the negative side of the Aquarian. This can also reveal itself in a sustained hatred for enemies that is capable of enlarging itself into a misanthropy toward the whole of mankind.

Interesting. Very interesting. :)

Or maybe it is....just to me.
